Going rate for a model of 1945
Going rate for a model of 1945
What do you guys think a fair price is for these now? A lgs has one for $800 which I think is lunacy. I see some online occasionally for around $600. Once I saw one for $500 but it was already sold by the time I called. I'm not really concerned with a special year etc. I would just like to augment the collection. Already have a 56.
Thanks
Mike
Thanks

You will get a better response by telling us what 1945 firearm you are wanting to know about.

Assuming SKS since this is the SKS forum?
(yeah, it took me a minute to figure that out....)

Lol I was trying to go by the sticky for calling sks by number names. A Russian sks run of the mill all matching.
Re: Going rate for a model of 1945
The $500.00 price was probably about right or maybe a little low.

I wouldn't go more than $450, maybe $500 for a nice numbers-matching Russian in my neck of the woods.

Thanks I just have to wait for the right deal then. I've been burned by my impatience in the past.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt, the umbrella and the complimentary ink pen.mproko wrote:Thanks I just have to wait for the right deal then. I've been burned by my impatience in the past.

We need more info, is it as issued or refurbed and if it was refurbed is it coated with BBQ paint? Also Izhevsk built
rifles are much rarer than Tulas so they are more expensive. Survivors SKS Boards is a good source of info.

SKS-Files is the best SKS forum imo. They are hardcore into the SKS and are doing registries of every one they can find to accurately date and gather info.
It all depends on what year/factory/refurb it is. there's not a very wide range in prices for Russians, seems $500 is about average.

On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

Was '45 the first yr. for Russian SKS? Both factories? Were their a few thousand or millions?

IMO $800 for an as-issued Russian doesnt seem out of line.

Really? I don't think I could ever spend that much on an SKS. Especially when only a couple dollars more you can get a Finn Captured SVT-40.Cj556 wrote:IMO $800 for an as-issued Russian doesnt seem out of line.

A good barometer of Ruskie prices seems to be starting around $650 for a non refurb
