Hello everyone,
Attached are pictures of my 1917 Mosin Nagant M91/30. Tang is rough to read but is dated 1917.

Nice. 1917 was a savage year for everyone in the war, and for Russia in particular. Very nice find.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

IS there a mark below the date, on the left, covered in black paint?

Very nice ex dragoon. Honestly I think it's the first 1917 dated one I've seen. It's nice the importer and seller kept the bayonet with it. Most were mixed up after they were taken out of their crates.

I was able to fingernail the excess paint off below the date on the left side, and nothing was underneath.
