Damn, a good muzzle crown and the works. Looks about almost maybe close to New! You got a GEM. :cool2: Was that a select pick ?

They are only offering Service grade at this time..Lottery Pick,been waiting months.From what i can tell,its a Colt frame and barrel and a Remington Rand slide..1944 Serial #

Steve,no the CMP are only selling the 1911's..any refinish was done after the war.

They have 9000 to sale this first go around,you had to have all paperwork in months ago before they closed it down.i was number 1931..they are in the 3000's now..they had 19000 people apply for these 9000.

You did very well on that. This is the first of the CMP offerings I've seen; Very nice!!!

I really wanted one but am unwilling to jump through the hoops to get it. IIRC the odds are slim to even get one and there is the limit of one forever. I'll sit back and wait for either someone to part with one or for the demand to level off. There's always next year.

Congratulations!!! That's a very nice CMP 1911.

I haven't received my lottery number yet, but they still have a way to go with the numbers. I'm hoping I make the initial cut.

Anybody else here been contacted by CMP? I haven't heard a word. Would be nice to know how far along they are with the selection process!

That's a real nice looking pistol. I have a Colt Series 80 Govt Model from 1984. I love it. It is my favorite single firearm in my possession without a doubt. I don't imagine I'll ever try for one of these due to the long process involved but I can see how owning one would sure be amazing. Congrats on getting such a nice one
