1931 Tula M1891/59

Post by qz2026 »

Here is a pristin 1931 Tula M1891/59. This is the last of three Hex receivered M91/59's in my collection and is very interesting and warrants some explanation, i.e. where did I get these?

These M91/59's that I have recently posted were from a collection that an older fellow/collector had. He had 31 with different dates, arsenals, and features. He had about 8 or 10 with "hex" receivers. Having access to large lots of M91/59's he had gone through about 600 M91/59's to select those in his collection. I feel fortunate to have a few of his thoroughly researched and selected examples and am working for additional opportunities from within that 8-10 number.

I don't think I will submit this one unless you insist. This is interesting in that I was able to acquire not only this "standard" Tula but an additional 5-line Tula which you have already seen. So, I have a representative sample of Izhevsk and Tula early barreled 91/59's. Under normal circumstances I would say that my collection is now "rounded out". But, although it has taken a while to realize it, a "rounded out collection" is essentially an Oxymoron for people infected with our sickness.

That's it.... until next time that is...

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Very very nice! Almost looks like it was pulled off the assembly line and put away in storage.
You must have a very understanding wife to let you take pictures on the couch.

It's in the basement. She NEVER goes down there anymore. Now, I think she is afraid at what she might find down there

Great rifle qz, looks like a Czech stock, if you post it for the showcase you got my vote.

It is a Czech stock as indicated by the box 20 on the top of the butt.

I thought about posting it to the showcase, but thought it might be "piling on". Maybe I will.

If the other guys think I should, I will. :D
