14 1/2 pound Flathead catfish I caught while bass fishing last April. Pretty fun in current with only 12 lb test mono. Second picture is the end of the battle showing my Citrus Shad in it's mouth that it hit. Third picture has a decent shot of my floating tacklebox.

Caught this 4 1/2 pound largemouth last May on the same lake.

Image

18 inch Nolichucky River smallmouth I caught back in 2008. It's the only guided fishing trip I've ever taken. It was a two day float, and it was AWESOME fishing!

Image

Another 4 1/2 pound largemouth caught on a local small water treatment lake in 2009. This one was gut hooked, so I filet'd it out for my grandmother.

Float trip in 2011 on the New River close to home. Smallmouth bass are so much fun to catch. First picture is of my best friend coming through Narrows Falls. Last one is me coming in for a lunch break.

I have a bunch more fishing pictures, but I'll stop here. Going to hit the lake tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have some more pictures to add.

Nice fish!

Nice everything really.
I've all but passed on a "real" boat, it saves time! Just load up the truck (it's a real pickup, not an SUV), get bait and go! Oh, and lunch. Can't forget a meat loaf and cheese sandwich. Or hot dogs.

So flatheads will bite lures... This is good.

Rather looking forward to the summer, 110 F, a shade tree, and no more high school! Ever! GOODBYE, MOTHER*******!!!

To celebrate, I've got three week old livers, cheap wieners soaking in garlic salt and powder, and some probably dead nightcrawlers! It's gonna be a fun three months of paid vacation!

Nah, those are for the fish. They're rank as HELL!!! And they catch fish.

If I can get it past the turtles. I've been hunting them, they come up for air and Mr. Marlin makes them sink.
.22 WMR w/ a 3-9x variable power. Had one floater come up today. Two neat holes in the top of his head.

Got a big redear though. I was pleased, my new 14' canes are doing well.

The snapping turtle I caught sunning himself on the dam. I left him be.

The respectable redear that I caught Friday.

Caught four decent bass on night crawlers, a cane pole, float and 2/0 Aberdeen hook. That's my bullhead pole.

My bream pole has a 1" peg float, split shot, and a #10 salmon egg hook. :big shock: Such a tiny hook!

The bass were... say 1/2 to 1lb? Good fighters. Wasn't in the frame of mind to take pictures. I'll try again tomorrow.

We used to get them crossing the trap club parking lot from the swamp over to the sandpit. Quickest way to kill a snapper? Step on the tail and put a load of #8's in it's head.....

The soup was pretty good...

Turtles like that remind me of my childhood when I had cousins in the country that we visited regularly. I can remember beheading a few when they came up for air with a good old Remington shotgun.

Here's my 15 mins of fame . I shot this in 2000 . It was about a 25 yd. shot using my .243. He was running , shoulder shot, the bullet did no exit. It was touching the hide when i skinned it . Lost 1 shoulder and 1/2 of the other . It made the Buckmasters 2002 record book.
