Enfield deal came through
No, not that kind of Enfield. Revolver, #2 Mk 1. The'43 made piece has thin finish, but it is strong in the bore and tight as a tick. It is DA only but it actually shoots about as good as a S&W in DA. It is interesting that it has neither import or the normal British export stamps all over it. All I can say is that the Brits made a very robust piece for .38 S&W caliber, it could still be shooting Germans and Italians a hundred years from now. ;)

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis

Pretty finish doesn't make it shoot better, Probably brought home by some GI who either traded for it in England, won it in a craps game over there, or found it on the battlefield. Nice find.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
