Gas tube too long for AK!

So I got this AK type gas tube - hand guard along with a buttstock at least 30 years ago. Up until recently I have never tried to install on a rifle. To be able to install I understand that slight fitting might be acquired but in this case I would have to cut alot off gas tube . This piece has a total length of 7 and 8/16ths inches. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify?

I didn't even have an idea that there were so many different lengths until I started looking. Good info to have!

Every AK spare part expects fitting - good to help compensate wearing.

It's not for an AK-47/AKM of the familiar Russian pattern. The hand guard is way too long not to mention has 3 cooling slots and not two as per the standard.

Looks like a Yugo M76 or N/O-PAP (M70) gas tube.

I had no idea that list would be long ? It kinda makes sense being some of the 74's have a spring ?
