New AR bayonet

Post by millman »

I got a new AR bayonet to replace one I traded off. It is in pretty decent shape. Does any one know what the written numbers on the scabbard might mean?

Got mine Millman and it's like new. Only problem is the ring doesn't fit on the flash hider as it should. Guess it's time to build a new rifle so that bayonet doesn't go to waist.

I looked at that picture that I posted on that other thread where we were talking about this. It seems that for the bayo to fit right on a 16 inch carbine barrel, one has to use a mid length gas system instead of the carbine length gas system.

yep, mine fit or I'll say didn't fit just like the one you pictured. I really don't know much about these rifles or how to go about changing things around. I might put something together later with a little help. Thanks !

I did a lot of searching on mine when I bought it.some places only told that they were made in the early 60's but I found some bayonet page that told more about it .they got the contract in 1968 and only issued them for on year 1969.do not rember where it was but I wrote it down at the time to go with mine. it seems like if I do not I have a hard time finding something again. mine has the correct scabbard for it also marked TWB also made in 69.alot of info out there but you have to do a lot of searching sometimes
