K98

Post by Antisocialist »

Hey guys, this K98 fell into my lap,and I've been out of the K98 game for years..I have no real interest in it,so I need to sell it.Thought I would run it by the experts here before listing it :P
Can anyone tell me anything about it besides the obvious?
I know it is a 1936 Sauer, all numbers match except bolt, which matches itself.Unsanded stock that matches rifle,
original sling with repro keeper.
No import marks, and its supposedly a vet bringback.

What do you need to know? Looks like a typical WW2 bringhome, probably no papers, you will have no trouble selling that. I would not part with that, I have two like it and neither is going anyware while I am still walking around. This is the type of K98k Mauser that some collectors would happily kill for. The mismatched bolt doesn't detract much, most bringhomes don't fully match. The result of the MP's taking the surrender, bolts on that pile, rifles on the other....
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Thank you for the reply,I am basically wanting to confirm that it is what I thought it was.
You pretty much summed up what I had already known, thank you..
I'm selling it because I am into AKs and Mosins exclusively-I don't need another caliber and honestly the K98 just doesn't interest me.
Thanks again for the comment.

I love pre war K98ks and Sauers are the cream of the crop. That shouldn't be hard to move at all.
Real gun control is the ability to hit the target.

Thank you for the reply..Apparently its more desirable than i expected, but as I stated before,I DO kind of have to sell it because I don't collect Mausers nor do I have an interest in doing so.
I've come to the realization that I need to focus on what I want, what I have ammo for,and stick to that!
Thanks again
