Re: Finding an M44 with a good barrel
Arms list is a ok gun trading site, or used to be I haven't even looked at it in a couple of years. There were always a few Mosins on it back when I used it. I've seen one or two M44 sell under $400 in the last year on GB, most are $400 and up, and more at retailers that have them.

You can find threaded blanks to go in those screw holes, and Tung oil is a good gun finish. Keep the intact one original.

Re: M28 missing some markings
I've got a M39 Sako '44 that appears has never had a mark on the hex, I don't remember the tang date. Also a MO 1930 Izhvesk that has no stamp, but it might have been milled some in the MO process.

Hello, My name is Amie hope everyone is well. This seems like a cool place to be. I'm an antique collector and have found a Mosin Nagant Bayonet. If anyone would mind telling me where the appropriate place to post a few pics so that I may possibly ask questions with help identifying exactly which k...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hey Steelbuttplate. Thanks for the suggestion. They have many things, but no narrow front sights. Gun Broker appears to but I have had a tough time getting the site to cooperate with me. Lol I know very little about my m44. It is in great shape compared to most of the ones I saw on line. I have pai...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Was the purpose of the high wall just for mounting a scope?Junk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 1:49 am The differences are visual, high or low wall, the rifle still functions the same way.

Re: .45 acp
I bought 100 rounds of remanufacture, 180 gr. nylon tip, the cases are were sized small and the bullet stuffed in makes them swelled looking, but this pistol has no problem with them or 3 other ammo's I've tried.

Does the flaming bomb mean it was US Army, or could it have been Home Guard or something else.

William Conrad "Canon". was the greatest pistol shot in TV history. He could hit a man at 75 yds., running, with his 2" snub. He musta had an inside line on the dust.

I felt the same way about building a rifle. I always wanted to build one but also knew that such things, even the kits, are not for beginners. Then I found Kiblers Long Rifles (https://kiblerslongrifles.com/). I've built one already and have had another one in the box for over a year that I haven't...

Re: M91 New England Westinghouse with no import marks
U.S. surcharged Westinghouse. I do not know the history of these rifles, although I do have the book that would explain some of it (Clawson's book). It's hard to tell if the stock's finish was messed with. Looks like it in the first photo; however, subsequent photos look OK. Some of the walnut stoc...

Looks familiar. I sure liked mine but could not hang onto it. I didn't have the trigger problem, it must be fixable.

Thats the Russian Imperial Eagle, I think Russian inspectors were in the US , and some rifles were stamped by them but never sent , Russia broke off the contract for them.

I went to cut a tree out of the road in a snowstorm one night, given an exact location, I got there, and no tree. I saw where it had been, limbs, pine cones and needles, but no tree. Traffic had run thru the top of it laying in the road, knocked off the weight of the snow, and the tension of the big...

Has anybody noticed one brand , or bullet type, that is more accurate in a 1911 than all the rest ? I know at least one 9mm and my Tokarev are more accurate with hollow point ammo.
