Re: 1888 Spandau 71/84 Mauser
I wanted one of these when they were making them into lamps in the late 50's. I looked for one for over 25 years and then one day at a senior gun buddies I saw one behind a door. I asked how long he had it and it was "quite awhile". You wanna sell it? I sold it to a guy in Houston for $65....

Re: Polish Wz48's at Buds
Pretty raggedly looking Vandeda. I know mine puts a bulge in the case where the extractor is. Never a rupture though. You can see the bulges at the base and the smack the firing pin imparts. I don't think its dangerous and it shoots well but maybe sticking with standard velocity ammo would be a goo...

Re: Polish Wz48's at Buds
Yes pictures are posted at Wz48 site for Mosins. Mine is in very good shape with no erosion. The design leads to a noticeable expansion in the case. The firing pin does slam the hell out of the rim and chamber peening is a definite liability for dry firing. I will try to photo and post.

I understand the strong Christian roots in Russia but not in a governmental arsenal. Guess it's more convention than religion.

Re: my M38 and M44
Thanks for the info. Why in a full blown Godless Commie nation would a big r be put on the date in 1943? Of the few hundred barrel shanks I have looked at on the forum I have not seen many r's that I recall. Is this more typical with the M38's?

Re: Hatfield 12 ga auto
Made in Turkey according to the the article in guns mag. Mine had a serial number that probably equals #79. I have since seen a mirror image shotgun under a different name for $399. I bet these were sold to Walmart for start up money.

Re: K31 rate?
I had a Samco k 31 with a troop tag birch, it shot well but I wanted walnut. Went back and they said do you want excellent rifle with walnut for $365? I said send it. Turned out to not match which I bitched about. Parts fit well, shoots fine, but does not seem to be as accurate though I have not rea...
