Re: Look what I found
Well, that one would be a perfect addition to my small selection of South American Mausers... Congrats on a very nice rifle!

Re: Had a Bit of a Luck Streak
Regrettably so far I didn‘t have the opportunity to inspect such a rifle in detail, so I don‘t know anything about numbered parts. BTW - the name "Rattanakosin" comes from an area in the historic heart of Bangkok, originally an island surrounded by the Chao Phraya river to the west and a k...

Re: Had a Bit of a Luck Streak
The characters on the receiver bridge are the serial number, they read as "00310". The two digits behind the trigger guard read as "60". The Thai characters below the Chakra wheel read as "RS121", meaning year 121 of the "Rattanakosin Sok" ("Rattanakosin ...

Re: Another Brazilian M1935 short rifle
And the last ones:
Okay, the bayonet's s/no. isn't matching, but it's a correct Brazilian M1935 bayonet from my collection, and exactly 500 numbers away from the rifle's s/no.

Another Brazilian M1935 short rifle
With less than 1,000 made this is for sure one of the rarer Mauser models and not easy to find - at least in all-matching condition. My personal survey has yielded so far only three truly all-matching examples worldwide - two are sitting now in my gunsafe, the third one is belonging to a US collecto...

Re: My latest acquisition: 1943 Husqvarna M96
All parts are correctly marked with the tilted Husqvarna crown. In contrast to the Carl Gustaf- and Mauser-made M96s on those built by Husqvarna only a handful of parts are stamped with the serial number (or its last three digits): M96_695002_01.jpg M96_695002_02.jpg M96_695002_03.jpg M96_695002_04....

My latest acquisition: 1943 Husqvarna M96
A few weeks ago I was lucky to find this one - a Husqvarna-made M96 long rifle with AGJ precision sight. Rifle is in very good, original condition, all-matching and has a mirror-bright bore. Shoots very accurate - when I'm doing my job well the rifle at 100 m holds the "10" even with 1987-...

Re: My first sniper rifle - a Czech vz.54
Yesterday I took the Vz.54 to the range for the first time. Regrettably the time available only allowed a few trial shots with the rifle as it is, no proper adjustment of the scope. I tried out two different sorts of ammo - Czech LB silver tip surplus from 1967 and Soviet "Extra" 200 gr ma...

Re: My first sniper rifle - a Czech vz.54
Now I have the rifle here in my hands. It is in very nice condition, albeit not all-matching. But it came with a vast arrangement of accessories, far more items than I have seen with any vz.54 so far. Now here some pictures of the rifle. A nice little Mauser - Dutch "Wilhelmina" police carbine
Gentlemen, may I introduce the latest inhabitant of my gun safe? Here it is - an all-matching Dutch police carbine, stamped with the Queen Wilhelmina crest and made by FN in 1947. A thorough inspection revealed that all parts still seem to be original - where applicable, they have the correct FN ins...
