Re: Help with an M39 please

Problem is that you will not be shooting D-166 rounds unless you load them up yourself. I believe that D-166 is a 7.62x53r cartridge too. Difficult brass to come by even during the good times. I suppose you could trim the length down to 53mm. But, the projectile is .309 for the 53r and .312 for the ...

hmmm, mommy wasn't wearing skivvies that day :chuckles: We all pray for Canada. Their tyranny test has gone well for those in power in Canada and Australia. The only difference is that we are heavily armed. Trudope (lol) and Castro could be of the same blood line. Most world leaders are of the same ...

Re: Help with an M39 please

This was once, not long ago a $350 rifle before Classic got a hold of them. This was probably one of Pat Burns guns from days past. I can't imagine getting into the hobby now. The prices have just gone crazy with no end in sight. Taxes and shipping are taking their tolls anymore on GunBroker. If you...

The internal plan to destroy the United States. Well, not totally internal. There is one with the first letter or "S" that is driving this. Hold on, it will get a lot worse in future days.

Re: Unknown mark on barrel shank of Tula m91/30

Interesting gun. The circle 50 on the receiver is just (currently unknown) repair depot stamp. I don't know how ssg_lord determined that the receiver was pre-1928 Izhevsk? How would you even know this unless you looked at the tang? If anything, you could look at this receiver and say, it's a pre 193...

Re: Sestroryetsk On My Mind

Well, I don't know what gun you are referring to but, here, we don't share links of active auctions in the open forums. Wooden cross bolts were the norm with the early M-91's. They eventually realized why their stocks were cracking and started using steel and in the early 20th century they began upd...

Re: Sestroryetsk On My Mind

I would recommend educating yourself before you start actively purchasing. There is a lot of information here about the particular rifle (M-91) that you are interested in: M-91 Russian https://russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/app.php/page/99 M-91 Finn https://russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/app.php/pag...

Re: Sestroryetsk On My Mind

Most you will find will be Finn's. They usually demand a premium as well. Anymore, we're talking pretty big bucks for one of these. There's one out there right now but priced silly high.

Re: Another Tula PU Authenticity check

I've never seen the original scope number stamped on the side of a Tula sniper barrel. All I can think of is this one one that was just a normal Tula rifle or at least barrel that was sent to Izhevsk to complete it's manufacture. Wasn't Tula at that point concentrating on the SVT's? What is stamped ...

Brazilian M1908

Ever since I sold most of my collection, I was remiss of selling my South American Mausers. A few I kept but not the Brazilian I had. I have been looking now for about two years to find one. The problem is that it is difficult to find them in good and matching condition without breaking the bank. Th...

Re: 1936 tula 91/30 SA marked

Interesting and cool rifle. The "6" looked like it was stamped late. Wonder if this was one of the first round receivers? Don't see too many of this year Finn captures. You see a ton of the 1939's though. The Tula arrow does look kind of weird lol... Nice gun

Re: M44 Failed Bullet Test

As above... Normal counterbore. The rifling looks fine behind the counterbore. The gun will shoot fine. Just as well that they didn't have any .54r ammo for you to do a so-called "bullet test".

Gun looks pretty nice. Congrats
