Re: In stock! S&B match ammo 7.62x54R
No thanks for that price and that's without tax and shipping. S&B has always been over priced... Of course I'm speaking as one who has more .54r than I'll ever be able to shoot. Those new to the hobby, I guess will be forced to pay the big bucks for ammo. Shame it's come to this.

Re: Crazy Ivan
I think that it's all smoke and mirrors. There is no reason why the puppet should want to go to war with Russia. This has all the making of a false flag the will be instituted by Biden and his CIA which will end up in "skirmishes" that will be reported as full on war. Note that Biden has r...

Re: True numbers matching M44 relative value
The first three things to consider - condition, condition, condition. An originally matching 1945 M-44 in rough condition wouldn't demand a premium. I would scan the gun's shank or stock for a refurbishment stamp to gauge it's originality. Finding a replacement stock, if found, could demand another ...

Re: True numbers matching M44 relative value
I'm not sure what a run of the mill M-44 is. And are you talking Russian M-44's? And beginning in 1946 and especially with 1947's and 1948's (Russian) original factory s/n stampings can be quite common. They will go for a slight premium but not necessarily for the s/n's. Usually, it's the overall li...

The author of that site is a member of this forum and lives in Ukraine and wrote the first new book in a long time, which sold out almost immediately. His work is the most up to date and comprehensive information available.

Re: Tell me about my m39
Pretty sweet gun. It looks by the barrel color that it was a B-Barrel. Very sought after. If I were you I would start a search for a replacement rear sight blade and possibly a rear sight spring for this rifle. These are becoming difficult to find anymore. It would be a good idea just to have in cas...

Re: Finally managed to get a type 53 in very good condition
The "12" represents the month of production, in this case December. This one looks like a pretty nice example. At one time I had a ton of matching T-53's in really nice condition Don't see too many of these anymore. If you do, your talking big bucks. The T-53's generally were the smoothest...

The triangle 12 stamping is from a still unknown armory/depot. The best reference for Mosin markings and other interesting up to date information is https://www.m9130.info/reference-section

Re: Anyone find any Sellier & Bellot 174 gr match ammo lately?
Watch the Eastwoods Arms listing on GunBroker. They seem to regularly have some .54r ammo listed. Reloading can be a bit of a problem anymore if you don't have brass, projectiles and primers stashed away.

You inherited some pretty sweet guns. The '23 Tula is fairly uncommon. The last gun is a Peter the Great Tula with a beautiful shank stamping. This one looks Finn too.

Re: M44 original or modified bent bolt?
Apparently some did but those bolts were added during refurbishment and not originally manufactured that way. The company RGUNS sold a batch of 91/30 refurbs that had bent bolts about 10 years ago. The M-44 would never have a bent (sniper) bolt. Nor would an M-38. Even after 91/30 production ceased ...

Bottom line is that no bent bolt was ever original to a Mosin carbine.

Re: Help with an M39 please
Your stock repair was done when the stock was made I suspect. I referred to cleaning the inside of the stock, i.e., removing the grease. Something tells me that we are discussing two different things in this thread. Austin was referring to the internals of the rifle. I don't know anything about what...

Re: Finally got my guns tranferred
I think it has more of a Romanian hoard Balkan (Cugir refurb) look about it. :P We really desire lot of pictures especially of the shank, receiver and especially the matching points. My first thought on the Romanian was... does it match? I have similar questions on the 91/30. We just hate to be in t...

Re: Help with an M39 please
Good response. Saved me a ton of time  Bottom line is that this rifle will shoot far better than you can or most any other WWII Milsurp can. This is the reason they are so sought after. It doesn't hurt that they are flat out beautiful rifles either. Removing grease from the stock. Just wipe it ...
