Re: SKS disassembly for cosmoline removal?
Use the wayback machine, see the links on the right under maintenance. Save the PDF files because one day these won't be available. https://web.archive.org/web/20130628214450/http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/index.asp Here's the SKS disassemble link https://web.archive.org/web/20130518225515/http://w...

Re: K98k Captured by who........
My bet was Czech capture but it doesn't have an oversized trigger guard... It's not Yugoslavian, they pretty much completely scrubbed theirs and put their own stamps on it.

Re: 91/30 refurb sticker shock
Yeah, I shouldn't really be bidding on anything right now but I thought what the hell, I'll bid 250 and that's it. I'll more than likely get outbid and if not I'm getting a pretty good deal. I bought two Tikka 91/30's this winter for $250 that nobody else bid on too. Some seller in Idaho was selling...

Re: M39 education
For your first M39 I wouldn't get too caught up in what type it is. Get something that appeals to you and make sure it has a very good+ bore. Finn rifles are known for their accuracy and there's still way too many M39s out there with excellent bores to bother with one that isn't that great if you're...

Re: 91/30 refurb sticker shock
Seems like 91/30s are actually selling for around $200 right now. And I just won a Tikka 91/30 for $250 last week, I only bid the opening bid of $250 and nobody else bid on it.

No real difference. I'd try them both and shoot the one that shoots better.

Re: Opinions on the Polish P64
If you want a P64 check out this guy on gunbroker, he sells them all the time. If you see one of his you like but don't like the price, if you sit and wait he may lower the price. Of course someone else may also buy it before you get a chance. You might also consider one of his $179 ones that have w...

I leave mine blank, I don't see any need for a title. My C&R expires in 6 months and nobody's complained about it being blank yet.

I've been considering trying this guys http://www.gungloveholsters.com/IWB_Holsters.html
Should the PPS holster fit it? He doesn't have one specifically for the P64

Re: Getting my first C&R handgun today-P64
J&G has them for as little as $199. If you look on Gunbroker long enough you'll eventually find a TG Knox import, they put the import stamp on the bottom instead of the side. I plan on using the P64 for concealed carry.

Re: Local auction - several MNs
Most of these auction houses charge upwards of $50 to ship so everyone that got one got it for around $500. Not a killer deal but that's about as cheap as they've ever been sold for, so certainly a decent price. , What gets me is why do people spend so much money for ammo at these auctions? Both of ...

Re: Finnish M91 versus M27
I've been wondering, why did the Finns continue with the M91 in the 40's? They went as far as to make brand new barrels for them. If you're going to make a brand new barrel why not make a shorter one?

Re: Yugo SKS M59
A true M59 or does it have the grenade launcher? True M59s don't come up much, they still only go for $350ish but the ones I've seen have never been unissued. Strange they don't sell for more with how rarely they come around. I see more Albanian SKSs on gunbroker than M59s. Southern Ohio gun has bee...

Looks like a bubba cut to me, the hole near the 4 is too sloppy for the Finns.
