Here is another that one of the old regulars on gunboards (from Alaska) posted about years and years ago.
IIRC his forum handle was AKmilsurp, but I could be slightly off on that; I have had this photo saved for something like 15 years.

Some kind of filler, but there is fragmentation damage to the filler too. It saw action again after the repair was made.

Classic and AIM are buying the same rifles from the same importers. There really is not any difference in the rifles.

Re: PU Snipers - Classic Firearms
Classic PU snipers are one of the best deals on the market right now. You did just fine. There is less of a paper trail in regards to some of their history when compared to the RGUNS PU sniper rifles, but they are at least $200 less than the RGUNS PU snipers. I have a feeling you will be 100% happy ...

Homer2 has done more research into the various subcontractors for NEW than anyone else I know on the forums. He would be the guy I would ask that question to.Lee-online wrote:That's a beauty.
Why did the Meridan factory use a different cartouche?

It does look like someone tried to strip the bluing off the rare sight base though. Not much you can do to correct that.

Re: Has this gun been bubba'd?
Non Bubba'd stocks for 91/30's can be easily found if you want to bring her back to her former glory. Yes, it will not be the stock it left the arsenal with, but refurbs were made up of mix and matched parts at the arsenal anyway. Welcome to the forum!

Re: IMA Sale on Helmets from the Finnish M40/55 Contract
I'd like to have one someday just to repaint and make it into a German WWII repro, but in the end, what would I do with it but look at it? Probably end up selling it, just like most of my bayonet collection... Yeah, that is the way most of these things go as far as Military accessories go though. W...

Say what you want about IMA Jim, but no matter what word spin they place on their products; the never mess with what they received. Unlike Century (or other importers) IMA sells their products as they found them, or cleaned up (not scrubbed and refinished, or modified in anyway) versions of.
