Fantastic restoration!!! These are my hands down favorite of the Lee-Enfield rifles. Nothing says Empire like a good old No1 MkIII

Re: Steyr 95 Stutzen Carbine
The straight pull bolt makes this an interesting little carbine. They are cheap enough that you should get one for the collection. They are a neat little design and they look great! If you are looking for a shooter they have a reputation for shooting a bit high. They do kick but nothing unmanageable...

Re: Belgian Congo 1894
Wow...friggin beautiful rifles!!!! Either of those would be a fine addition to any gun safe. You have some accessories to go along with that rifle. 8-) I'm a sucker for metal that is "in the white". I actually prefer it when the bluing is worn off and I love the look of these two. Thanks f...

Re: CMP M1 Garand
The CMP also checks head space and test fires your rifle before they ship it...it doesnt get much better than that! The CMP is a great outfit and you should not hesitate to buy from them. If you have any problems with your rifle they offer tremendous customer service. They want you to have a functio...

Absolutely beautiful and with some great markings! You are going to love shooting this one...hang on tight! These have a reputation for shooting a little high. Use an oversized target at 100 yards to see where the bullets are hitting. Looking forward to the range report!

Re: what are the best surplus rifes to get?
"need to find guns that are under 500 maybe 600" Like the man said...first start researching into the CMP and what it takes to get an M1 Garand. It isnt that hard to do and this should be your first move...just my opinion. Second, look for a K98K Mauser before they are all gone. I am part...

Ammo stash? Whats this ammo stash you speak of? Why, we dont stash away large quantities of ammo around here...do we? Of course not, I sold all of my ammo...and my guns. I dont have any ammo or guns...nope...not me.

Re: New to the site, with an AK
Nice looking WASR! 8-) The magazine well can be opened up to accept double stack mags...that's what Century Arms does. All it takes is a dremel and a steady hand. Directions can be found on youtube...go figure. Check your local laws before you attempt anything to make sure that it is legal to ...

Re: Just ordered an M1 Garand
Fantastic!!!! Congratulations on your order, you wont regret it. There is something about the M1 Garand that I cant explain, it just has this aura about it that sets is apart from any other rifle in the safe. The .30-06 is a great round. Stock up on some military surplus while you are waiting for yo...

Re: What to look for in AK47
It sounds like you want a solid utility rifle to use once in awhile but that wont get too much use. If this is the case then I wouldnt spend $1000 (or equal in trade) on a top of the line AK. A good WASR 10/63 will serve you just fine and they are half the cost. I think all of the WASR's are built b...

That sounds like a good day of shooting! I like to get bigger targets and them move THOSE closer. The 91/30 is a pleasure to shoot and the ammo wont break the bank.

This is a great post illustrating why it is so important to detail strip these wonderful old rifles before shooting them. Who knows what these rifles have been through and how they were handled. I am sorry to hear about your rifle but I am glad you didn't get hurt. Thanks for the post!
