Re: Every 1911 needs a good home

Or at least some kind of home. Here are some of my latest home-building attempts. These are my designs, obviously a variation of a theme of one piece holsters. I am having a ball learning a new skill. A few years ago you said you didn't think you could do that. Those look great, did you buy a machi...

You could try putting the barrel in the freezer overnight, and see what happens when it warms back up.

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Hello, my name is Geoff; I found your forum by trying to research some Nagants for a friend of mine's widow. He is resting comfortably in Camp Butler National Cemetary, and his collection has been entrusted to me to organize. He was well-versed in history, and his knowledge and stories will be miss...

Re: The strange Tula

Update on this Russian boar. It's says either/ or on the rifle, but shooting .308 Win thru it, it will put two rounds close together, then throw one high and right 4-5 inches. Is the .308 the slightly smaller case of the two ? If so could it be letting gas back around the case neck and flu...

Re: Well boys, it is New Years Eve again

I lost another good friend two weeks ago, he was a Vietnam vet and lived alone. He could do anything related to building and taught me tile work. He had some weird issue from agent orange, made him nauseous bad once or twice a month. He was in the VA getting checked over and had a massive heart atta...

91/30 sights

I might be slow, but I just noticed the other day when shooting a 91/59, The sight has 50 yd. increments. I got to looking at other 91/30's and so did they. The M-44 doesn't. I guess all 91/30 upgraded sights have the 50 yd slots ?

One came back to me.

This was the first Mosin Nagant I ever bought, back in '06-07. Rifle and a spam can of '81 Russian for $200. I liked it of course and it shot good, but after I'd bought 7-8 more Mosin, I sold it one day. I guess it's 12 yrs later, the Man that bought it ask me if I'd buy it back, and after a day or ...

I'd leave it as is.
Don't do one thing To it, that's some of the best Russian red you'll see and they got it nice and black too. "43 Tula is not common.

Re: Need some help with a poor Mosin

I just threaded the ATI kit screws into the holes till flush. Then lopped the tops off and sanded them smooth and reblued the entire gun afterwards. And found that the rear site scope mounts hold true the best! Good luck with the hackjob should shoot fine still. Love my Mosin sbr for deer in the ri...

Re: Back Woes.....

I had back issues all my life from heavy lifting and such. That's mostly gone now that I had to give up heavy lifting, but more than once I had an issue while doing something small and not expected to likely cause me pain. Getting out of a chair, reaching for something, once even while trying to ge...

I took an SKS in the rain one day this year, no scope to fog or blur up, the soft point round went thru both sides of a deer with a nasty exit at 65 yd.
