Re: M1 Garand
That is a sharp looking Garand . But the ping stuff is a load of crap, that is a story that was made up after the war. As much as I've shot mine, never heard a ping , unless it hit concrete.

Re: The current Remington 1858 Collection
Nice revolvers, Jim. Here's one that was dug up at an oilfield, near Hondo Tx, by my Mom's uncle in the 50's. It was given to my Dad in the late sixties. When my Dad got it, it was a solid piece of rust, could tell that it looked like it was loaded. I worked on it a long time, finally got it where I...

He left me quit...

Re: Speaking of match rifles....
Forgot, it's a Remington, M540X, my Dad gave it to me. Even with the open sights, it will put 5 shots into a group smaller than a dime. Allen

Hopefully you are a long ways from the coast, Jim. The further away the better, might get a lot of rain, but maybe not the other stuff. Allen

Re: Where is JYD? New updated 27, Aug at 10:40 AM PST
You be careful, Jim. Hurricanes are nasty, and tornados form at the outer edges. I rode out Celia, with my parents, when it hit Corpus dead on. Brick buildings were knocked down, houses torn off foundations, complete roofs blown off houses that landed 2 or 3 blocks over. The worst part was no power ...

Re: Collections
Yea, I had to put scopes on all my rifles, my eyes won't do the notch and thin front sight, and having problems with peep sights. Good thing, no damage to the rifles, they can all be put back to original with no problem. Allen

Yes by all means, take him fishing, it will stay with him the rest of his life. My Dad was't a fisherman, but my Mom's Dad was and he's the one that got my brother and I hooked on fishing, as soon as he can shoot, the same thing goes. Hope you and your son can get some fish . Allen
