Furthest shot taken with your rifle

You mean the bullet still hasn't gotten there?

Never fired my PU, it's a Vietnam bringback, last time it was fired was at US troops. Never cared for the optics on it, or the scope mount setup.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I guess no one shoots their rifles. One of the best parts about collecting is shooting what you collect.

Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
I shoot almost everything I own, my long range vision sucks these days so I don't bother much with shooting past 100 yards, mostly with my .22's. I have taken shots in the past out to as much as 600 yards, but for me to hit at that distance is more luck than skill.

1000 yards in the military with an M-14....200 yards with an M-16. Finding a range longer than 100 yards is almost impossible...but at 100 yards I can get an 1 1/4" group out of my 91/30 and 1" out of my M39...with Belgium surplus ammo. Check out my posts DOG will verify my post here huh DOG!

Oh, I've probably stood back about 12-15 ft at one time. I really need a wide angle lens.

I have no Sniper rifle... I did shoot my Iron sight M39 at over 800 yards though. Compact car hood with a bullseye painted on it. I hit the hood probably 30% of the time.

That 30% is better than I would have done

Even in the pic I had some trouble making that out, and I blew up the screen in order to see it better.

Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
You asked about a specific rifle. How many times have you shot your 1898 Finn M91? Don't have one? I don't have a 91/30 sniper.Lilkicker wrote:I guess no one shoots their rifles. One of the best parts about collecting is shooting what you collect.

Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
There's a 300 yard range in Southern Missouri, I shot my 40 Tula and Polish M44 on it. Standard man-size targets, I got one hit out of five with the Tula and three out of five with the M44. That was all I shot though, I'll go back there next year and try and better that.neorebel wrote:1000 yards in the military with an M-14....200 yards with an M-16. Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
I shoot my pu sniper at two hundred yards and it groups about the size of a softball. At 140 yards its about base ball size groups. At 50 yards golf ball size groups and isn't even any fun. Just too easy. Love the rifle tho.
Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
No PU but i shot my 40 M91 at 460 yd gong. Did really good. 2 foot diameter gong.

Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
What do you think the average distance a russian sniper would shot during the war?
Is that your home range? I would love to have something that!Rongo wrote:This was the distance... Note the hood (white dot) along the tree line.
Re: Furthest shot taken with your rifle
Where at? I would like to shoot further than 100yards whole I can still see halfway decent.Mike wrote:There's a 300 yard range in Southern Missouri, I shot my 40 Tula and Polish M44 on it.
