I just joined the site. Found this thread about ammo pricing. Nice....

I have just started looking at these old war horse bolt guns. I picked up a M39 the other day, now I need some ammo.... Same for the 303 british. These old rifles are really cool! So after seeing how cool the 303 british shoots, looks like the M39 and the 303 brit will take the same size bullets for reloading. Any chance to add 303 british to the pricing list? How about places to purchase brass? I have looked on line to find brass for the 303 british, wow is that stuff hard to find at almost any price... I would also like to find some brass the M39 too. Any ideas on where to find it?

The same site that provides the charts for this thread, gun-deals.com has some reloading stuff including brass listed. You'll have to weed through some of the other listings here. http://gun-deals.com/index.php?dealtype ... 9&subcat=8 There's no category specifically geared to reloading. We had separate categories at one time but they were removed. They may be added again someday. Graf and Sons http://www.grafs.com/ as well as Widener's http://www.wideners.com/ have brass but I'm not sure if they'll have what you're looking for. Look through the listings on site and maybe visit some that have other stuff listed and look to see if they also have what you're looking for. I'm curious, are you Australian? I ask because of your username. I almost moved there and they call mechanics fitters. Being an auto mechanic I was refereed to as a gasfitter.

One last suggestion would be to buy .303 or 7.62x54R brass cased ammo and save the brass. http://gun-deals.com/list/ammo/.303+British and http://gun-deals.com/list/ammo/7.62x54R

Just find it locally unless you want to buy about 4 boxes or the shipping may be too high, but look at Grafs.com just in case. They charge a flat 6.95 handling fee and free shipping. I have seen 25 auto from time to time at Walmart, the best price in town when, you can find it. Your dad will have to buy it until you turn 21. You already knew that. Mosinkid, hug your dad's neck for Fathers Day. :P

Hi; Dolk, Just wanted to ask about special self defense .357 Mag. I've tried a few different kinds of .357 in my Ruger LCR . Since I carry the Ruger as a backup, I need the best stopping power available for close quarters. Thanks JGC

Whatever you decide on you sure ought to practice with that round. Full power .357 in LCR would be a mighty big handful.
