The Russian Mosin Nagant Forum

I stepped away from the Mosins temporarily & wandered into the SKS world.
I'm not really interested in collecting SKSs but wanted to have one.....& well......this is the Albanian that I wanted. LOL
I cleaned it up tonight but they were spraying the field close by my range so I'll be waiting for another evening to try it out.
It's a 1978 & according to some this was the year with the largest production of them with possibly less than a couple thousand still in circulation.
It is what it is ....& now it resides amongst my Mosins & Finns!

Good looking Albanian SKS , very worthy rifle to reside next to the Finn's and the Mosins.
Also, it is alot rarer than either, there is an est. 6000 Albanian SKS's left out of the estimated 17000 made. Mine is a '78 also, I believe even though it is the most common year, the number some estimate is around 2000 or less for the '78 year.

You probably got one just in time. Few left to be found.

I love Albies, never owned one. Had a chance to get one that looked just like yours, also a '78, but the $700 price was just too much. Someday I'll find the right one and she'll sit with pride next to the Russian, Chinese, Yugoslavian and Romanian SKS's I have.

man I would love to make an Albanian my next SKS. Any year would be ok, and a nice example with worn blue would be perfect. SANTA, ARE YOU GETTIN ANY OF THIS?:x
