US model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield

Post by etprescottazusa91 »

First I need to say, Its really hard taking a good picture of a rifle that long with its bayonet attached.

Working wall hanger, US model 1884, the serial number places it at 1885 production. Not much finish, woods nice because ir was refinshed at some point, cartouche's are not visible.

The sling is an original two piece 1887 us rifle sling, I really like matching original equipment to these old guvs.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
