VSKA AK-47

Post by Tula44 »

Picked this up today! Years ago I had a WASR-10 but ended up trading it and wish I didn't. Happy to have an AK again!

Looks good, I like the color of the furniture. How do you like the fit and all of the rifle? Like the early WASRs, I've heard mixed reviews on the VSKAs. But I have no first hand knowledge on them.

I bought a 2018 made WASR in 2019, and have no regrets.

I like the color of the furniture, too! The red looks good. As for the fit of the rifle the only thing that I noticed is the top hand guard is a little loose. I'll be replacing the pistol grip with a surplus bakelite one that is close to the color of the furniture, I just need to purchase the right screw. Other than that, I'm really happy with it!

It sure is! I've been away from AK rifles for several years so it's good to have a couple of them back in the collection. Picked up a WASR-10 yesterday.

Thank you! I really like the bakelite grip, it looks good with the red wood furniture.

The AK-47 is perhaps the most widespread firearm in the world. Carried by American enemies and allies alike since 1947, it is the standard infantry weapon for 106 countries. There are an estimated 100 million AK-47s of a number of variations around the world.

Great looking one. I have one in Magpul furniture that’s been camouflaged that shoots great. I have read that some have an issue with barrels loosening up after time. So a good idea to keep an eye out for that.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

C. S. Lewis
