When/if you guys acquire a new C&R collection piece that was probably in a collection pre 68, do you register them to yourself first ? Is there an FFL form ?

Well, part of that is controlled by the "State" you are in also.

In Calif, you can't just go out and buy a C&R rifle.
You have to go through a 01FFL or have a 03FFL (and a "COE" certificate)
They are registered by Calif DOJ.

Other states, you can buy C&R face to face with no FFL.
