K31 Rear Sight Leaf
I just traded an RC K98 for a Swiss K31. While I’m quite pleased with the K31, it came with an aftermarket rear peep sight and the seller did not have the original. I am trying to find an original sight leaf to restore the rifle to as issued condition but can not find one anywhere. Does anyone have a spare they could sell or know where I could get one? I’ve been asking around on another forum and have been scouring the web to no avail.
Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
Ditto. I have one with a scout scope mount and the guy couldn't find the rear sight. No idea about these folks, but they say they have them. Lock, Stock, and Smoking Barrel. In NZ no provision for int'l. shipping, but it might be worth investigating.

I saw one in particular on eBay but it is $80 with shipping. That’s an awful lot for a simple sight leaf.
Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
There has to be a "Swiss expert" on the forum or the other that might have some of these parts. I was in a similar situation with a 1944 Swede M-38 that I bought very cheap because it had a mojo rear sight blade on it. Other than that, it was pristine. I wrote one of the experts on this site and he had three. We found the appropriate blade and I bought it. Not cheap since they are like hen's teeth to find, but the correct blade probably doubled the value of my rifle.
You may want to write Numrich or Liberty Tree and ask them. If they can't dig one up, maybe they can sometimes point you in the correct direction. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I posted elsewhere to no avail. I’ll try contacting some parts dealers and see if they have leftovers not listed on their sites.

You had best pony up $80. You will get that one, and the next guy down the pike will have to shell out $100 or more.

Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
There is a K11 sight out there for $49. Pretty sure the two are interchangeable..

Definitely leaning towards it now. A friend has a contact in Switzerland trying to find one but I have no idea what the price range would be or if he’ll even find one. From my research, the K11 and K31 sights differ in that the K11 is graduated from 300-1500 meters while the K31 is 100-1500 meters.
Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
This is correct, sight leaf for K11 starts at 300, K31 at 100. I have a safe full of Swiss rifles but sadly not a rear sight leaf to spare. Good luck with the hunt.Sestroryetsk1907 wrote:Definitely leaning towards it now. Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
This is the leading seller for Swiss K31 rifles and spare parts here in Germany. A rear sight parts set is at 32 euros, shipping should be another 5-10 euros to the US for such a small part (in case of a group buy the international shipping might become even less expensive per unit), so it is roughly half of the price stated above. Maybe this helps:

Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf
I wish I would have seen this earlier. I’ve already coughed up $80 for one on eBay.
