Chinese sks in Albanian stock
Finally picked this one up the other day after seeing it on the rack at the local store last year. Too many irons in the fire to grab it before then. '63 vintage Type 56 Albanian import in a rough but really neat Albanian replacement stock. The fore end was shortened and a single-door buttplate installed on the double cavity butt. You can see it was originally inletted for the Albanian spike bayonet. All numbered parts match, stock is not numbered. Bore is fantastic. This was hands down the greasiest rifle I've ever purchased but it cleaned up nice.

I love that look, I would have grabbed that one also. I'm surprised it set for so long.

I've taken this one to the range a couple times. It gets a few funny looks and when I shoot it the others are shocked. So was I the first time. This thing is VERY accurate.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

That is known as a Sino-Banian. About 3 years ago they came to the US by the thousands from Albania! Many dealers still have some
on their shelves. There were a lot of Russians that came in with them illegally. SOMEONE replaced all the Russian receiver covers with old Chinese covers. Customs missed that. But, when folks started posting pics on boards of the Russian they got, well that changed quickly.
The importers were searched by the Feds and all the Russians had to be cut up into scrap.
You never knew what kind of stock you would get with any of these. Albanian, Chinese, Romanian, or Russian.

The Chinese SKS fits well into that stock? I need to get a stock for a friend of mine, years back I gave him a Chinese SKS in a plastic folding stock with extended mag that I now must make NY safe act safe for him to bring to the range. That means short mag and regular stock, he doesn't give a damn what kind so long as it fits.

The front end was shortened by an arsenal to make it fit the action. But it fits nice after the modification.
