“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
C. S. Lewis

I just acquired this Sako M39. I has a white "T" on the stock and also multiple "T"s on the bolt head. Do these relate to the white "T" embedded in the stock?

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember seeing one of these T marked ones before, and the story was that it was a rifle that would be pulled out of storage and inspected to see how the whole lot was doing in storage. A representative rifle so to speak. Now that said, someone will come along and correct or confirm this. The T stamps on the bolt head may be related to this.

Nothing wrong with that.

I just picked this up yesterday. Won it at an October auction. First Mosin I've bought in a year (I actually bought 3 at that auction).

Picked up a pair of M39s recently
Their stocks are not a pretty as some that have been posted in this thread, and they are not war veterans or very old (younger than me, actually)
But here is why they are special to me!

1943 SK.Y, looks like it’s seen some glory days, stock was replaced and re-sighted for at some point. Older import with discreet CAI marking in front of barrel by front of sight
