1914 Dragoon (Finned)

This rifle urgently needed (and got) a trip to the range for a bore cleanout. And it turned out to be a very accurate shooter. It truly does shoot straighter than I do (once out to 100 yards accuracy deteriorated, but that was due to old eyes and my damned tremor, not to the rifle).

The shimming (pictured) made all the difference, I'm sure.

The cartouche, though almost gone, is Imperial. I like the way they carved the stock to fit the butt plate. More attention to detail by the Finns. It has the typical mix of parts. Sadly, no solid barrel bands on this one. Still, a nice rifle and very gratifying to shoot.

Amazing detail. They flanged the back piece insert.

They even flanged the very bottom of one of the brass side piece inserts!

A one and a half inch counter-bore, the deepest of any of my Mosins.

Wow that is a great old gal! I love the extensive shimming! That is a rifle to be appreciated and shot like you are doing! Congrats on a great gun and enjoy it! Bill :D :D

Very nice! I knew she shot good, because it has the bullseye on the right buttstock area above the escutcheon. I have the same on an M24 and it's a very accurate rifle. Congrats! :vcool: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
