Screwdrivers.

Post by Lee-online »

I found this pair of screwdrivers together for less than $10, Both are [SA] marked so I figured I cant go wrong.

Not sure what their story is except one is Finnish and the other has the firing pin protrusion gauge. A quick look online and libertytree has them for $25 each.

That R in the circle Remington made one is getting really tough to find so you did real well at the price! Congrats! Bill

I remember when these were all over e-Bay, as well as the full Finnish Armorer kits. I regret not picking some up; OTH, I have plenty of Russian combitools.

So, were these issued to troops in a kit along with other tools or just to armorers?

Many years ago AIM or maybe Centerfire had genuine SA cleaning kits and they were a virtual grab-bag of those screwdrivers and I bought about 20 of them. Got some really neat ones. I also got one that was SA marked but meant for a Machine gun and I still have that one. Had different pieces in it. You just don't see a lot of them like that anymore and todays parts sellers have crazy prices compared to what they are paying so I buy very little on that market. I don't mind a little profit but double plus a bit turns me off to them. Bill

I did a quick search after I got mine and found them, they look a little different to mine, are they Finnish, Finn captured or Russian?

These things vary quite a bit and I would say each individual one's markings are to be used in ID'ing them to their country. I have one that is circle R marked and then later has SA markings too. I would say that tells the story on it. Bill :D
