You can get a good deal on a grey blanket every now and then

Post by Gsragtop »

I won this rifle in a grey blanket auction a few weeks ago, and I am very excited to own one of the pieces of history. Sold a Hungarian m44 to pay for it (very broke right now) but it was worth it. I'm into it for around $300 after shipping and I think that's cheap money.

Picked it up from the FFL a few days ago and it's nicer then I expected, so I'm even better now. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to break it down yet as the rear band is pinned.

But, let me ask you what are your guys thoughts in the initials cut into the stock, a detractor or a non issue ??

Attractor, if anything. Great find!
Things could be worse. Work to keep from finding out how much worse.

That is a gorgeous old rust bucket. I don't think the personalization hurts it.

As to the added initials, I think they add a little bit of mystery. Nice pick up.

I sell things every day, both for the business and for myself, just not guns. I sell cars, car parts, antique phonographs and parts for them, various antique items, lawnmowers, I average 400-500 sales a year on eBay, sometimes more. Right now I am packing an ignition coil and igniter box off a 1981 Toyota Corolla to be sent to a customer who paid me $45, I would have really loved $4500

My Son will get the rifle his great-grandfather carried during the war; and it won't cost him a dime.

May dad carried a M1928A1 until he could trade it off for a M3. I'd gladly pay $3000 for his if it had the proper papers.

Try selling old Mopar parts if you want some coin!

I have sold MoPar parts, more than you can imagine, I am still selling Mopar parts when they come available. I have and continue to make money off of them, whole cars and parts. I play with milsurps but cars and parts are what I do, antique ones anyway. Most interesting part I sold this month is a 1941 Lincoln Zephyr V12 engine and transmission. They are going to south America were they will be used to build a hot rod Lincoln, same exact car as in the original song by that title. They paid us a lot of money
