Oddball

Post by TulaTom »

Bulgarian contract M95. Otherwise known as a Karabina Mannlicher Obrazetz 1896g. I guess there is a couple other names as well. I'm far from an expert on these, so anyone that wants to correct me on anything, please do. The handguard doesn't match, but the rest of the carbines serial numbered parts look forced matched by the arsenal. This carbine has been updated in the 30's to take the 8x56r cartridge.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Congrats, that's a nice one. I have one each of the Steyr and Budapest marked carbines, still looking for one with a nice Bulgarian Lion Crest.

I haven't shot it yet, Steve. I think this would be a good candidate for light cast loads. :) My other concern is I see the start of a small crack on the left hand side of the rear top tang. I got a really good price on this carbine, so I couldn't pass it up.

Very nice. Yes cast loads would be good and Lee makes a mold especially for it. [emoji14]
