After much soul searching and research, I decided not to pass up this outfit. Its in wonderful shape considering its age. The leather is a bit stiff in spots, but still sound, as is the stitching. No cracks in the wood. Only missing one screw and the nut inside the lid. The only thing I'm unsure of is the maker's stamp on the leather rig - seems to be "Treibrienem Werk" Strassburg. I Googled it and the name refers to leather drive belts. Anyone heard of them?

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
