I've had this cursed smoke pole for years, and every time I fire it the nipple is blown off and lost. I'm desperate.
What size nipple should these use, and how should they be affixed?
They appear to screw in. Should I use thread lock? Or should I just sell this pile of sh!t and buy a better, wooden rifle?
Cheers!
J.D.

Hang it on the wall and get something better. Not worth the bother to try and sell, they were only like $90 new at Walmart when they were made. For an inexpensive shooter, I like my Traditions "Canyon", a Buckstalker that was relabeled for Cabela's. Not a lot of money and plenty accurate.

Call Dixie Gun Works , however if the problem is caused by buggered threads then a new cone is not the solution, you will then need a gunsmith to repair it. I have CVA front stuffers, they are basic, but generally good shooters. If it's the one I am thinking then it's made by Jukar in Spain. A custom made smoke pole will cost you a couple of grand or more, a nice Italian replica Hawken is going to be $450-$500 unless you get lucky like I did this summer and find one for $50 in unfired condition at the flea market.

Looks like a thread problem to me.

That's in nasty shape all right. Looks like the entire drum will need replacing.

If you get more than $25 for it, I'd be surprised. And yes, JYD is right, the whole drum should be replaced.

I'm scrapping this piece of crap, Ive got five guns (minimum) in my LGS right now and it's taking up space. So the $25 will go towards:
$700 PU Sniper. (Check)
$400 Swedish M96, and then the carbine.(IDK)
Yugo K98 (Who knows?)
$389 Rossi Rio Grande (Maybe.)
But I'm making it into a gonne first so I can sell a functional gun and lock parts separately.
