Those are some beauties. I like Mausers too. I just can't bring myself to buy one with Nazi markings.

The Israelis had no problem buying Nazi marked Mausers when they needed arms to form the Jewish state. They defaced the markings of course, the waffenampts anyway, the rest they left alone. Mind you some of these citizen soldiers had very recently been guests of the Nazi state's camp system and survived. The Haganah made extensive use of German Mauser's smuggled to them from Czechoslovakia, one of the few states that would sell to them, later they were converted to 7.62x51mm and soldiered on with the new state of Israel's military during the 1950's. The first fighter aircraft in the Israeli air force were German as well.

I picked up this late war Mauser Orbendorf svw45 bolt mismatch at a pawn shop last week. They had it marked as a Yugoslavian Mauser and priced on the high side for one. I made an offer without correcting them and they they took it. The sling and full Kriegsmodell stock are what initially caught my eye. It's not a Russian capture. My money is that it's a bring back that someone inherited and didn't want but I can't prove it. The sling and rifle are in nice shape and it's my second K98k.

some time ago I purchased a K98 BNZ45 in mint conditions and must be a bring back as it has no import numbers. I paid $125 for it and I do not think it was ever fired. It has a laminated stock (original). Am not sure how rare or value this weapon could be. Any input would be appreciated
