Tikka M27 gun show find
Tikka M27 gun show find
Good day to all !! After a brief hiatus, commonly referred to as a vacation, I am back and in normal form. Albeit a bit fatter and slightly sunburned. First day back and lo and behold there is a gun show in town. Wasn't there 5 minutes and noticed a fella walking around with this little gem. At the 6 minute mark it was mine. Suffice it to say he was either desperate or an ignoramus, likely both. I gave him his asking price and walked away briskly. My lucky day I suppose. 1932 Tikka Model 27 with sling. It sports a spliced Russian stock and has the Ski swivel. Needs a good cleaning , but here are a few preliminary pics...

That is incredible. If I had walked in and bought that within 5 minutes, I would have probably gone straight out the door and back home, completely satisfied.

I am back already. I just needed to look it over again. I sure wish I had that tree stump in my back yard.
Re: Tikka M27 gun show find
I wish I could have left right away , seemed like every time I turned around I was seeing the seller. Kept thinking he was gonna ask me why I didnt even try to haggle with him for the rifle....

Make us jealous. What did you have to give?

Remember that a lot of the people who have rifles like this bought them 20+ years ago for $45 and have no idea what it is or what it might be worth today. Nice deal
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Tikka M27 gun show find
Very true but in this case the seller was young and likely just not knowledgeable as to what he had. Strange thing though, he knew it was a M27. Maybe your right JYD, he may have gotten it for a song and a dance and just passed the favor on to me. Either way, I'm pleased.Junk Yard Dog wrote:Remember that a lot of the people who have rifles like this bought them 20+ years ago for $45 and have no idea what it is or what it might be worth today.
