The Cherrys Yugo you refer to was never sold as an unissued rifle. In large print on each box they only state "Cosmetically Unissued."
CAI had thousands of the same. Their tags only said Excellent. All shipped about the same time.

Drago just bought a 1987 Cherrys. I have had a CAI for a long time. Also a 1987. Labelled Excellent. These two rifles are only 203 apart by SN.
I know of no Military rifles sold as unissued ones.

This Enfield N04 MKII is not only unissued, it's still in it's original arsenal wrap, it's brand new,

Sometimes some rifles just never make it out of the arsenal.

Yea, most everybody opened theirs up, I brought mine home and didn't have time to mess with it right then so I stashed it away and forgot about it for 11 years. I was digging around in a storage chest when I found it again in 2007, decided as I have a lot of Enfields to shoot that I would keep this one in the wrap, a little time capsule from 1955. They are expensive when found like this today.

$1200 :) not near what I paid for it back in the 90's, and I thought it was expensive then!
