Re: 91/30 price increase
All this crying about price, I was buying these things when they were $45 for a Finn, never mind a refurb, if anybody should be screaming it should be me!
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: 91/30 price increase
Fleet Farms price of $119 was a bargain in today's pricing. Now $155? Bummer... Still a better deal than most though. Unfortunately for me that just broke the bank... For the cost of 2 Fleet Farm specials will buy me a solid M39 from Pat Burns.

Better the M39 anyway before they all become $500 and up

Speaking of which, I didn't think $1990 was too bad for an unfired M39, with a 'B' barrel

Re: 91/30 price increase
I found this out first hand this past weekend. I could have swore that the weekend before that they were still 120. I still picked up a '42 Tula and may go back for the '39 Tula.Cosmoline guy wrote:For anyone looking for another 91/30, Fleet Farm recently raised their price from $120 to $155 for the 91/30's from Century Arms.
I hope that this isn't a trend and that they come back down a bit again. They had been up to $140 previously before dropping to $120.
I've been debating between a new .22 auto pistol that I've been saving up for or buy 3 Mosin's at Fleet but at that price
it would have to be only 2 Mosin's if I go that way.

What are the odds??
I was shocked to find LR primers (Rem and Winchester) and H4895 and IMR4064 (one pounders) in stock at the GS by our lake place last time we were up. I was able get 8lbs of Accurate 4350 from Wideners the other day, should be delivered Monday. Even with shipping and haz mat it was still cheaper than the $34+tax the local places are charging for the pounders.

Somehow imagining what your collection must look like in it's total grandeur, I just can seem to shed any tears for the impact of increasing market prices on your status as a serious collector...Junk Yard Dog wrote:All this crying about price, I was buying these things when they were $45 for a Finn, never mind a refurb, if anybody should be screaming it should be me!

Yeah, it sounds like the price went up last Thursday. Oh well, just have to keep a watch on the situation.
At least they are getting some ammo in here and there so when I check that I can also watch the Mosin prices.

More a curator these days than collector, did my collecting back then, haven't done much but take care of what I have since 2008, but I made sure during the last three years I had an FFL to do a whole lot of collecting.tjtM38 wrote:Somehow imagining what your collection must look like in it's total grandeur, I just can seem to shed any tears for the impact of increasing market prices on your status as a serious collector...Junk Yard Dog wrote:All this crying about price, I was buying these things when they were $45 for a Finn, never mind a refurb, if anybody should be screaming it should be me!

Re: 91/30 price increase
It's been a few weeks since I've been at Fleet Farm... Do they now have a hefty Supply on hand? If they do, look for them to have a sale sometime in late August.

But yes I also have trouble conceiving of the size of your collection JYD. Does it fit all in one room? or several rooms? or do you have a specially constructed bunker?

Yea, but I heard it's hot there, I am not that big on hot, at least here it's only maybe 60 days a year, with another 40 moderate hot..

Yeah bits are hot, but down south towards Victoria, not so much.
More pertinent is the fact your head would spontaneously combust over our fkd-up gun laws within about 45mins of arrival
So yeah, there goes that idea lol
