Want to share some pics of my favorite Mosin. It's an M1891 "Peter The Great", made in 1916, with Austrian capture marks, and a Finnish SA stamp. Most likely it was used by the Russians in the trenches prior to being captured, then years later making it's way to the Finns where it was probably used against it's former owners. Above the sling slot on the left side of the butt, there are bits of metal still embedded in the wood.
The wire cutter, while not original to this rifle, is period correct and adds a unique touch.
I often wonder what has been seen through the sights over it's 107 year history. Thanks for taking a look.

There was a bit more movement in the Eastern war than on the Western front. Large armys on the move, a little less stagnation as found in France. Nice find.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
