H&R Pardner 20 gauge pump
H&R Pardner 20 gauge pump
What a sweet little 20 gauge pump.
It's a Chinese clone of a Remington 870 and it is made in China but I must say they did an awesome job. It holds 5+1 rounds and after two boxes of birdshot I was in love with this gun. No issues at all and it preformed flawlessly as it should.
I paid $265 canuckbucks for this one with nice walnut furniture. They had two others for $290 but they had black synthetic stocks on them and they just didn't look or feel good.
So for a new shooter or someone on a budget I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shotgun. There's good reviews on youtube on these guns and that is always a bonus.
Only pics I have are cellphone pics but have a look anyway.

I have a H&R Pardner 12 ga in black.
Great shotgun. But a little heavy. It's my "go to gun" beside my bed.

Re: H&R Pardner 20 gauge pump
My H&R's are all before 1920, most before 1900, single and double guns, a couple old revolvers. Interesting look at todays H&R, they copied the 870 inside as well as outside, or are some internals changed?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I have a 12 Gauge Pardner Pump Protector in 12 gauge with an 18-inch barrel. It feels like it was machined from a solid piece of steel. No aluminum receiver like the Remington 870. Despite the weight, it kicks like a fu**ing mule.

My only H&R is my goose gun, a 10 gauge with a 36" barrel. I call her "Baby".

Re: H&R Pardner 20 gauge pump
The Remington 870 has never been made with an aluminum receiver. You must be confusing it with the Mossberg 500. The Pardner kicks like a mule because one of the things they did NOT copy on the Remington was the stock. The Pardner has way more drop at both the comb and heel than the 870. They are reliable, but ugly boat anchors. Best used, as dolk said, as a bedside gun. My bedside gun is an Ithaca 37.

No, they have a disconnector. The trigger assembly is similar to the Remington 870, but I don't know if any parts interchange.

Re: H&R Pardner 20 gauge pump
Just picked up an 870 still in the box from 1984. It has a short slug barrel with rifle sights. It was part of a two gun deal with a typical Soviet 91/30 refurb. Were the hell would you find a new 870 from 1984? What I paid for the two is what the 870 is worth by itself so I got the 91/30 for free.
