Governments don't live together.
People live together.
Governments don't give you a fair word
or a fair fight. I've come here to give you either one.
Or get either one from you.

Re: The battle of the NRs
Hard for shills to operate on GB given the 15 minute reset if someone bids in the last minutes. It can happen, but that 15 minutes is enough to sober up most impulse bidders.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

What a joke. Anyone paying that much is fair game for ridicule. If you don't know the rifle you are bidding on, then don't.
That rifle will have to see many years before it appreciates to that value.

Re: The battle of the NRs
Thats bad.
But then, I can't say that I have never been guilty of paying too much for something on there. I knew it. But I did anyway.
It's funny how I am usually the cheapest bastard on Earth with new stuff. But if it's something of historical value I can get into that trap of thinking that I might not find another one, or a better one, for years...or ever.

Just makes me wish I had bought a couple more when AIM had those for $550 a couple years ago!

It seems to be the current trend on the auction sites...crazy
Re: The battle of the NRs
So the economy improves, wages rise, modern gun prices drop, and milsurps go up. The FSU business school is next door to where I work, I will go ask a sharply dressed professor for an explanation. Or maybe I should go down the block to the psychology dept. and look for a shaggy-haired professor. It looked like an alcohol and testosterone fight from here.
I hope I saved my "certifications" from Molot (in Russian and English, no less) those may have sealed the deal.
I have made some unwise, impulse, gun purchases, but never on that scale.
I hope the seller went out and bought a lottery ticket, cause he was on a roll.

Yeah, and with something like that, you can find another one, right? I mean, I don't have a pu sniper and haven't looked for one recently. But aren't they out there? It is not as if it was something that was a bringback, with no import mark, and had a rare date or factory code that could make it more desirable.

I wonder what became of the one the Cobra was using when he and Hathcock were after eachother in Vietnam? What would it bring with documents? $$$$$

Man, that would be ultimate cool.
Ever heard about that collector who has Capt. Lange's pistol from when they catured the U-505? That would be another one of those that you aren't going to find twice.

Re: The battle of the NRs
The NR's aka "newbies" are setting the market prices now and they have deep pockets. At least, they are setting the prices for their community. The more experienced guys are bailing out. The newbies are paying outlandish prices across the board for Milsurps and this is a relatively new phenomena. I've noticed lately that this has occurred in the K-31/K-11 market. $800+ for a K-31? Who would have thunk it...
Re: The battle of the NRs
Few years ago someone told me you have to have at least one K-31 in the family so I started looking. Steadily the prices went up and up and I never did get one. I got the idea at probably the worst time in the history of K-31's...qz2026 wrote: I've noticed lately that this has occurred in the K-31/K-11 market. $800+ for a K-31? Who would have thunk it...
