Remington 91/30 conversion

Post by racerguy00 »

I'd been wanting a Remington or Westinghouse 91/30 conversion for a while and finally found a nice one. Matching numbers though force matched, nice markings and a good bore. It has the welded rear sight base and sleeved front sight that's typical for these. Neat rifle.

That looks like a good one.

I believe it is a Polish bolt body. The rest of the bolt parts are Soviet.

I've been trying to keep track. There's about a half dozen each of Westinghouse Remington and Tula so far. Some have been posted here before. I'll dig up some links. I haven't seen a confirmed Izhevsk but that could be because they may be thought to just be an oddball ex dragoon.

Yeah. I need a Remington to go with the NEW. I remember seeing a Tula like these at the time I was bidding on something else, like 2012 when I was still in the states. Great addition!

The barrel was shortened to 91/30 length and the last few inches turned to a smaller diameter. A sleeve with the front sight base was slid on and tack welded. A 91/30 rear sight was installed and spot welded in place also.
