Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Alexander Hamilton, Federalist Papers #29: ...if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens.

Thanks Fledge, I like stocks with lots of character and have been known to buy them just because they have cool looking stocks.

Re: Let's see them Tikka M91'S
I have two.
1941, fantastic bore, very sweet trigger, Deep bluing & a very nice stock. I have had it to the range just once & I must say it's about the nicest shooting Mosin I own. The trigger breaks like silk, it shoots where you aim & the action flows like warm butter. Matching numbers on the Bolt handle only... The rest is scrubbed clean & smooth by the Finns.
1940 Tikka M91, missing handguard & the trigger was horrible but otherwise very nice. Has a one piece stock & the receiver is an 1895 Sestroryetsk making this one an Antique.
