Any idea what a "Zulu" is worth ??

Post by Gsragtop »

I found a rifle at a pawn shop today. With Dave's help I found out it's a Zulu shot gun.. It's in decent shape, but missing its firing pin. It also has what looked like Arab stamped into it. Maybe not??

Any way any idea to its value??

Thanks

I don't think that would be the right ammo for this. The Zulus were converted from really big bore French breech loaders, themselves converted from muzzle loading percussion rifles. All I've seen have been in 12 guage.

Having watched "Zulu Dawn" where the Tommies are mowing them down, I assumed them to be British in origin. I stand corrected. Thanks.

I paid $10 for mine back in '88, I have no idea what they trade for now but it's unlikely to be big money. Bannerman collectors look for these more than anyone.

This is about like me asking:
Any idea what a Chevrolet pickup is worth? It is missing the camshaft.

I have seen the clean old trucks you have in your part of the world Russell. Yank the entire drivetrain out of any of them and it's still 4-5 grand up here for a rust free body and frame.
