picked up some mixed brass

Post by bunkysdad »

At the local range recently I noticed some guys shooting a couple of newly purchased common refurb Mosins. They were shooting modern factory ammo and since I had struck up conversation with them for the past hour, I felt comfortable enough to ask them if I could have their brass. They gladly gave me nearly 5 boxes of brass. Man I was a happy camper. At the same range they have a shelf where they sell any rifle brass that may get left behind and picked up by the range. Usually the .303, 30-40 Krag, and 7.62x54r bins are empty. I dropped by yesterday just for grins and was able to pick up 95 pieces of 54r for 15 bucks. There is no telling how often I miss out because I never think to check. I'm good with paying 16 cents a piece for reloadable brass so if anyone here has brass to sell let me know.

Just sold Ron all my .40 S&W, but still might part with some .45acp, a little bit of 9mm, some 5.56mm, but no 54r
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I find it common for most shooters to not want the brass. All the better for those of us that do. Good find. 8-)

Not at my gun club. If you don't police your brass they post your name in big letters on the sign in board.
