Kivääri M91/30 Infantry Rifle 1941 Izhevsk

Post by Junk Yard Dog »

I dug out another issued rifle, this one has been around before, but I shot a few new pics. It's got a two piece stock, with Finn sling rings, it's "41" marked and SA stamped, has a small counterbore. The stock shows a few dings and is of course finished dark with who knows how many coats of Finn wax. The Izhevsk 1941 receiver shows a nice rough finish common to rifles made in the rush after the Germans attacked. The rifle retains it's Soviet globe and post front sight, and is a fairly decent shooter, 2 1/2-3 MOA at 100 yards if I recall. A real piece of Continuation war history.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
