Here's you an old timer picked up from the field after the battle of Gettysburg. A Springfield bayonet with the socket damaged by an incoming shot I'd guess.
Sorry the pictures are pretty bad.

I've got a 16" 1917 RIA in a 1910 canvas sheath for my 1917 RIA '03-A1, very similar to what Jim posted.

The damn bayonet is worth half of the price of the said rifle. :beek:

May have to sell that weird WWI Bolo to get a bayonet for one of my M39's. :brolleyes:

This is probably the next direction in my (small) collection. I love to see the bayonets on the rifles. I've got a Savage Enfield...which bayonet is the most appropriate: the spike or the blade? It's a No.4 Mk1.
I love the smell of cosmoline in the morning!

Nice bayonets so far everyone. Not sure what bayonet to add to the thread discussion so I decided to post up this pic again instead. When I get a bayonet I try it out on the rifle, then toss it in the crate.
