How did you order a field grade SA within the last 26 days??
Re: SA M1 Garand
I just mailed my order form in? Got a call when they received it saying the SA FG were on backorder, but the backorder log was much shorter than the SA SG or the HRA SG. Must have been very short...Vendetta wrote:How did you order a field grade SA within the last 26 days??
I only wish it was a WWII dated rifle...

Ahh... All of their info says SA Garands are sold out, so I found one locally that is about on par with a service grade and a WWII receiver. I was wondering because initially I was going to order from CMP but I didnt want anything post war(ww2) and H&R was all they had "available" and they are all post war.drabnor wrote:I just mailed my order form in? It was and has been since I was a wee lad my "unicorn" firearm. I bought my first gun in February this year and bought a Savage 30.06 specifically to learn the cartridge so that when I bought my Garand I would know as much as possible. I bought my Garand last month and I still pick it up every single day just to look at it.bunkysdad wrote:Oh man you guys with your nice Garands.....I want to poke your nose!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: SA M1 Garand
My HRA SG order took three months and I never got the option to switch to SA. And I would rate it as barely service grade - I'd call it a field grade. All in all, though, at least I got one.

Nice. Mosin Nagants have a special place in my heart but I really do love my Garand. If you've never detail stripped one they're a breeze once you do it a few times.
