It's what I was thinking also
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I don't have a finn, but the title says"mosin"so I'll post this one. In my collection this is the nicest and rarest I have. 1942 Izhevsk in a blonde stock with a trigger thats at about five pounds and brass shims in the stock. Someone really took their time and put love into this rifle

Mine is an ex-dragoon hex receiver. But I guess that's nothing too special. And, it has a force match floor plate.

All, again, ALL the numbers on a refurbished Soviet Mosin are force matched except the barrel number. This is normal, it is the case with every one of them, it does not in any way detract from the rifle, and if it's a lineout with new number next to it there is an increased cool factor.m1guy wrote:Mine is an ex-dragoon hex receiver. Guess my most rare would be a Finn 1897 Sestoryetsk
Honorable mention to my 1924 Izhevsk 91/59 and my 1902 Izhevsk 91/38
Most unusual has to be my 1931/45/50 Tula MO ex Dragoon in the Red
It is really hard though...

Or... sort of uncommon to me... a Finn 1927 Izhevsk ... that I really like. Thank goodness we don't have a thread for our most favorite rifles. I really, really like them all

There's no 'ex' in that photo, you have a Finned dragoon. It still has the dragoon rear sight. Nice.
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

I don't really have any that I'd consider rare and you did say "rare", not "pretty"
First is my newly acquired MO marked 1925 Izhevsk ex-dragoon. Yes, she's beat up and Ivan apparently either bled to death over her or left her in a swamp...
Second would be my /25\ stamped 1937 Tula. (My #2 & #3 could go either way)
Thirdly would be my also newly acquired MO marked 1943 Izhevsk.

Here is mine from the Showcase. I will never top it. http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.c ... 48&t=12187

Same barrel bands too. But, technically a Russian Dragoon with a new front end and some Finn stampings. To me "ex", to you "Finned". Either way I think it's cool. Ex Russian Finned Dragoon???racerguy00 wrote:There's no 'ex' in that photo, you have a Finned dragoon. It still has the dragoon rear sight. Nice.

1941 Tula, I think that's my only rare one, I have an M91, but don't know much about it.

Re: Rarest & most uncommon Mosin Nagant in your Collection
It sure is. Heck, even pictures of them are rare.
Re: Rarest & most uncommon Mosin Nagant in your Collection
I guess my #1 would be my 1943 81/59. #2 is 1942 M39 VKT, and #3 is my pair of 1926 Tula and Izhevsk Ex Dragoons. Not the rarest by any means.
