Look what came out of the bore of my Type 53!

Post by cjsimoh »

I was cleaning the bore of my 1937 M91/30 Tula and while I had the rod and supplies handy, I thought I would put a patch or two down the Type 53 so I could examine the bore better. I ran these 2 through and decided to put it aside for another day...
I'm sure you've seen similar pics before, but it's always fun to see new ones.

Where oh where has my "Ugly Betty" been and what has she been doing?

Nasty. But I guess I would rather have that then rust :)
Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

Like I said my Bud's gun was the same if not worse.. I sent a soft brush up first and it pushed out a cylinder of grease about 1.5 inches long.. Had to throw out the brush, and that's when i grabbed the boiling water.. I came out brown the first few times, and after it came out clear I swabbed it..

I remember that picture! I'll probably never get that out of my head...
